There Will Be Blangst

Lazy summer afternoon~

It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, only a few white clouds filled the sky. The grass felt like the softest bed they had ever felt, they didn’t want to move, they’d been laying there for hours.

“This is perfect.” Kurt whispered, letting his eyes slip closed.

Blaine glanced from the clouds over to his boyfriend. He watched as his chest rose and fell. He watched as his lips parted slightly as he breathed. He watched his hair rustle slightly in the light breeze. His face glowed in the sunlight, his skin looking immaculate and soft. Kurt was right. This is perfect.

“I wish I could live in this moment forever.” Blaine breathed out, barely aware he’d spoken.

Kurt’s eyes cracked open, glancing over to him. When he saw Blaine staring, a soft smile graced his features. “Me too,” he whispered back.

They lay there for a moment, just staring at each other, just adoring the other’s presence, until Blaine finally spoke again. “Why do things have to change?”
Kurt’s smile stayed in place, though his brows furrowed. “What do you mean?”

“I just…I want to stay like this forever. I want to lay here with you forever. But…this time next month you’ll be in New York. And I’ll be…I won’t be with you. We’ll never have this moment back.” Blaine let his eyes close this time, though only to hide his tears. “I just want to live in this moment forever.” He repeated, voice shaking.

“Oh, Blaine.” Kurt whispered, own voice cracking. Blaine heard the rustle of Kurt moving beside him before he felt his boyfriend’s  hand slip into his own. Opening his eyes he glanced over to Kurt, whose face was inches from his, locking eyes with him. “We can get this moment back…we’ll get it back every day.”

Blaine brow furrowed, “How?”

Kurt smiled, closing his eyes again. “Close your eyes.” He instructed, Blaine did as told. “Every night we’ll call each other. We’ll lie in bed, we’ll close our eyes, and we’ll remember this moment. We’ll get fresh grass air fresheners. We’ll turn on our over-head lights. And we’ll come back here. We’ll pretend we’re lying here, hand in hand…” Blaine opened his eyes, looking over to Kurt to find he was looking back at him again, “…and we’ll be together again.”

“I like that.” Blaine whispered, smiling despite the tears that slipped from his eyes.

“Me too.” Kurt smiled, leaning over and placing a soft kiss on Blaine’s lips. “I love you so much, Blaine.”

“I love you too, Kurt.” Blaine smiled, letting his eyes slipped closed again. “And I hope you know where to find grass-flavored air fresheners.”

Kurt’s soft, musical laugh floated over Blaine like the light breeze. “I’ll find some.”

Yes. This is definitely perfect.
