“You know, Finn. Finn. Finn, I’m tooootally ok with you stealing my engagement thunder.”

Finn glanced up from his video game controller to look at Blaine. Currently the boys of Glee, minus Kurt who was downstairs with the girls, were crowded in Blaine’s room, playing video games and keeping him company.

Blaine himself wasn’t doing much of video game playing, his medications still making him silly and out of it. The boys at first had found his high state humorous, but after remembering Blaine had had a serious surgery only a week before, and had almost gone blind, it stopped being funny.

Blaine lay on his bed, head turned to stare at Finn, who was looking confused. “What?”

“You proposed to Rachel.” Blaine said seriously, as if he was the first one to break the news to Finn.

“Yeah, I know.” Finn said, glancing to the rest of his friends who were looking confused as well.

“Well I’m ok with you stealing my lightning…wait…” As Blaine’s face scrunched up, trying to figure out where he’d gone wrong in his sentence, Finn turned fully to his friend.

“Dude, what are you talking about?” All the boys were turned completely towards Blaine then.

“You proposed to-”

“I know I proposed to Rachel, but why would I be stealing your thunder?”

Blaine blinked his one eye, looking confused by Finn’s question. “Because Kurt said yes to me like months ago…or weeks. Hours?”

“Said yes to you?!” Puck repeated, all but throwing himself at the bed, as if getting closer to Blaine would make his words make sense.

“Dude did you propose to Kurt?!” Sam squawked, falling on top of Puck. Beside them Finn pretty much collapsed to the floor while Artie rolled over Mike’s hand to get closer.

“I…wait.” Blaine paused, thinking hard. “I gave him a ring.”

“You proposed!” Finn screeched.

“Well—no—I—I made him a ring. It gave me cavities.”

“Made him a ring?”

“Dude, are you sure this isn’t just like a weird dream he made up?” Sam whispered to Finn, who was trying hard not to explode.

“I didn’t make it up!” Blaine pouted defensively, “I made it for him. It was a bow. I gave it to him…and I promised…that I loved him.” Blaine blinked up at the ceiling, “And he said he wanted to get married in Central Park.”

“KURT!” Finn screamed, getting held back by Mike as he tried to bolt for the door.

“Wait, you two didn’t get married, did you?” Artie asked.

Blaine shook his head exaggeratedly, “Noooo…no…we just promised…and then he wore the ring. I don’t…actually, I don’t think I asked.” Blaine said, struggling to remember, “I don’t remember…but I do remember he said yes.”

“Holy shit, dude. Kurt and Blaine are engaged!” Mike said, looking to his friends in shock. Blaine laughed, which was odd since nothing was particularly humorous except maybe Finn’s red face.

Though Blaine’s laughter increased as Sam crashed to the floor, pushed away by Puck as he scrambled out Blaine’s bedroom door screaming “HUMMEL! YOU DOG!” as Finn finally broke free from Mike’s hold and ran out as well.

Sam, Mike, and Artie all exchanged shocked looks before turning back to Blaine, who stopped laughing and picked his head up.

“Hey, where’d they go?”

The Hardest Part of This

Blaine gets some bad news and has to tell his friends.

00

Kurt and Blaine sat in the back of Blaine’s car. Blaine half lay against Kurt’s chest. He had his ear pressed against Kurt’s chest, because I just want to listen to your heart. Kurt stroked Blaine’s cheek, shoulder, arm, whatever he could touch. Even Blaine’s gelled down curls.

“Maybe your jokes about using glue for gel was a good idea.” The teen whispered mirthlessly into the silence, “That way it won’t fall off.”

Blaine waited for Kurt to whisper something like ‘Blaine stop it,’ or ‘That’s not funny’. But Kurt said nothing. Maybe because this wasn’t just pessimistic talk anymore, scared comments made while waiting for the test results. It wasn’t just a maybe anymore.

This was real.

Request #1, something cutesy with Cooper, Blaine and Kurt!
I like to think that the oldest Anderbro freaked out when he heard that Kurt didn’t get accepted to Nyada, and came prepared with hugs and cheescake and aggressively pointed fingers.
NO ONE TOUCHES COOPER ANDERSON’S BABIES.
Then he got Kurt a role in a commercial where he rose to fame and played every role in every Micheal Bay movie, ever

The crash echoed through the house. Kurt jerked up, trying to figure out who would be making such a noisy entrance into the normally empty Anderson household. Beside him Blaine didn’t look as concerned.
“Blaine? Kurt?” A loud voice echoed through the house.
Sitting up all the way, Kurt glanced to his boyfriend in confusion. “Cooper?” He called out when Blaine said nothing. The two listened as Cooper pounded up the stairs, making as much noise as possible.
With another noisy slam, Blaine’s bedroom door flew open and there, frazzled and out of breath, stoop Cooper. “Boys!” He said, running into the room and pulling the two of them into a back-breaking hug. “Kurt I’m so sorry!”
“Coo—wha—what are you sorry for?”
“Blaine called me the other night in tears! He said you didn’t get into NYADA!” Cooper babbled, pulling the boys closer. Their position made it impossible for Kurt to look at Blaine, but if he had to guess he was sure Blaine was blushing in embarrassment. “I had to make sure you were ok!”
“Cooper,” Kurt said, laugh not as forced as it had been lately. “It’s ok, you don’t have to-”
“It’s not ok! But we’re gonna figure this out, don’t you worry. You—you can come with me to Hollywood! And I can get you in the next commercial! Then you’ll become famous and those fools will realize their mistake but then it won’t matter because you won’t need them-”
“Cooper.” Kurt said, pulling again from the crushing hug, surprised to see both Anderson boys actually looked teary-eyed. “You guys are taking this harder than I am.”
“We just want you to be happy, Kurt.” Blaine sniffled.
Kurt smiled softly, taking each brother’s hand into his. “I am. How could I not be with two wonderful Anderson men taking care of me?”

Sing the Words… [Shy!Blaine and popular!Kurt AU] Drabble

Dude, what happened?

Blaine didn’t bother to respond to the text. He just lay on his bed, angrily staring off into space.

Are you too busy making out with your crush to text your own brother?

But I’m going to need all the dirty details.

Like his name.

…buddy? Are you ok?

Blaine didn’t move, save for his foot that stuffed his phone under the blanket with a swift kick. He wasn’t sure why he was so angry. He rejected social invitations all the time. This wasn’t anything different…

Except it was.

And it was all because of one boy. One dumb, stupid, sweet, kind, gorgeous boy. Because of Kurt.

He just wanted so badly to be normal, to not be so nervous and skittish. To say ‘Yeah, sure!’ when invited out to dinner. To actually be able to look people in the eye. To be normal.

But every time he thought about it, he thought back to earlier this year, to making friends with Keith, to getting close to Keith, to going to Sadie Hawkins with Keith only to have him…no. Blaine couldn’t think about it. He couldn’t.

With a heavy sigh Blaine flipped over and hugging his pillow close to his chest, he tried to block out the memories and betrayals of the past.

You’re better than this. You have to be better than this…

Sing the Words… [Shy!Blaine and Popular!Kurt AU] Drabble

Sing the Words, But Don’t Know What it Means: After Blaine’s transfer to Dalton after Sadie Hawkins, he is thrown into a world of friendly boys and people willing to be his friend. But his shyness always prevents him from making friends…and he really wants to make friends with a certain sophomore big-man-on-campus Kurt Hummel.

“You can’t leave me again!”

Blaine smiled sadly, “But if I never leave, how can you move on? Hanging onto the ghost of a husband of memories past? I can’t…I can’t do that to you, Kurt. I have to set you free.”

Kurt shook his head, sob escaping him as he sat forward more. “But I don’t want you to,” He whispered, he begged, “You can’t leave me. Not now. Not when I’ve finally remembered.”

“Kurt, please.” Blaine whispered, looking away. “You can’t fight this. Just let me go. Then you can finally be ok again.”

Kurt shook his head frantically, “I’ll never be ok without you.” He sobbed, “I won’t.”

I’m writing sad things.

Happy Birthday, Kurt Hummel - Love, Blaine Anderson

Kurt sat curled around himself. He knew what the day was. He knew today he was 19. He knew maybe he should feel happy today, out of all days, but he just couldn’t. He’d been so sure  he’d get into NYADA, and now suddenly all his dreams had fallen apart. He had nothing.

Curling the blanket tighter around himself, Kurt resolved to never move again.

“Knock knock?” Kurt lifted his head lightly from within his blankets to see his boyfriend, his brother, and his friend all standing in the doorway. All three boys were covered in flour and in Blaine’s hand was a tray with a stack of pancakes as tall as the vase of flowers next to it.

“Happy birthday!”

Your Words Like Knives

I changed it a little from the dream I had.

Blaine has been recovering from a devastating attack for the past year. But finally he’s gained enough confidence to perform at Nationals, his first performance since the ‘incident’. But a simple word from the competition can make him lose all his confidence.

Because brain injuries are apparently my new crack.

[Continuation of this]

“He’s here.”  Santana said into the phone, leaning hard against the door to her apartment.  “He’s here.”

“Oh thank God.” Came a whisper, all but a sob, from the other end of the line. “If I had known…I didn’t mean to upset him so much-”

“It’s not your fault, Mr. Hummel.” Santana said quickly, running a hand through her damp hair.

“You don’t know what happened.”

“Then tell me.” Santana said, letting her head fall back against the door.  The man hesitated. “Maybe I can help. At the very least I can relay it to Kurt.”

With a heavy sigh, Burt spoke. “We just…he’s been working at the shop, you guys know that. But he…he’s been working a lot lately. More than most of my full-time guys. And I was concerned, so I asked him what was up and he just sort of…exploded.”

“Exploded?”

There was another pause, then, “He was just yelling a lot of things, most didn’t make sense to me, probably stuff that was happening at school…but then he let it slip that he’d gotten in a fight at school. And…and that his mom had walked out on him.” Santana’s eyes widened, but Burt kept talking, “He was freaking out, saying he didn’t know what to do now, that everything was falling apart. Something about not getting the scholarships he needed for NYU. So I…I was just trying to calm him down. I didn’t think it’d upset him that much.”

“What did you say?”

“I said maybe New York wasn’t for him. Maybe he should think about taking a break with Kurt to look at other options.”

Santana sighed. She knew what Kurt and Blaine were like. Anytime anyone so much as hinted at a breakup they stuck their fingers in their ears and started singing. “What did he do then?”

“He…he yelled that I’m not his father, and I have no idea what I’m talking about. I didn’t think he’d get so upset he’d run to New York!”

Santana slipped her eyes closed, “Oh, Blaine.” Did you have to be so dramatic? She thought. Sighing deeply she said, “His mom walking out mixed with you suggesting taking a break with Kurt probably wasn’t the best thing to say.”

“Well I know that now.”

“No, I just mean…Blaine’s been really nervous about Kurt finding someone in New York. He doesn’t have the biggest self confidence in terms of this, if you haven’t noticed.”

Burt sighed again, “I noticed…damn it.”

“And if his mom just walked out his confidence had probably taken a pretty damaging hit.” There was a shuddering sigh on the other line. “It’ll be ok, Mr. Hummel. It’s not your fault.” Santana finally said, “If anyone can calm Blaine down, it’s Kurt, that’s why he came here.”

“Yeah…yeah, I know.”

“And you know Kurt will kick him in the pants for scaring everyone later.”

Burt laughed softly, “Yeah…I know.”

“I’ll call you with an update later, ok?”

“Ok. Thanks, Santana.”

“No problem, Mr. Hummel.”

After a summer of applying, Kurt started his spring semester at Parsons. But instead of getting a dorm, he ended up getting a cheap apartment with Santana, who’d done the same thing but with NYU. Both currently worked at the Starbucks down the road, while attending classes the rest of the time.

But today was Friday, Kurt’s only day free of work or classes or Santana. He had the whole apartment to himself.  He’d purposely turned his phone off, closed the curtains to block out the storm outside, and curled up under his fluffy blanket for a nice long nap.

Right when he was sure he was about to fall asleep there was a soft knock at the door. Pulling the blanket tighter around himself, purposefully ignoring the knock. They’ll go away. It’s probably just one of San’s bootycalls.

But they didn’t leave.

“God damn it,” Kurt whispered to himself as the knocking continued. Pushing off his blanket and heaving himself out of bed, he shuffled to the door he mumbled a threat to himself and threw the door open. “What-”

There, standing before him, soaking wet and pathetic looking as ever, was his boyfriend.

“Blaine!” He screeched, shocked.

“Hi, Kurt.” Blaine said, his voice sounding as wet as he was. His eyes were bloodshot and his face expressed every hardship he could ever experience. And Kurt’s heart just shattered.

“Oh, baby! Come in!” Kurt said quickly, pulling Blaine inside and pulling him into a tight hug. Blaine clutched at him like a lifeline, almost refusing to pull back. But when they finally did, Kurt led Blaine to the couch before grabbing his fluffy blanket and wrapping it around Blaine. “Baby, what happened? How did you get here?”

“I t-took a t-train.” He said, teeth chattering.

“What?” Kurt squawked, “Why?” Blaine ducked his head, shoulders shaking slightly. “It’s ok, baby, you don’t have to tell me.” Kurt whispered, wrapping his arms back around Blaine. Pulling him close, he hugged him to his chest, Blaine’s head tucked under his chin. It was like the motion set Blaine off even more, as his sobbing intensified.

Neither boy said anything for a long time, Kurt just held Blaine as he cried, feeling completely panicked and confused. Why had Blaine suddenly showed up on his doorstep sobbing? On his doorstep that was a 16 hour train ride away from Blaine’s doorstep. What the hell was going on?

“Kurt!” Kurt jumped as his front door slammed open, Santana running in looking panicked and frazzled. “Kurt why haven’t you been answering-” She stopped dead as her eyes lay on Blaine. “Oh.” She whispered.

Suddenly Kurt realized Blaine had probably tried to call him, maybe the other’s had too if Blaine had been missing since yesterday. He watched as Santana pointed to her phone and ducked back out into the hallway, presumably to make a few phone calls confirming Blaine’s whereabouts.

Kurt had no idea what was going on, or why Blaine was here, but all he knew was Blaine needed him. So Kurt was just going to sit here for as long as possible and hold Blaine while he cried, because that was the only move that made sense right now.

Blaine pretty much took it harder than Kurt.

“WHAT?!”  The sobbing Kurt could deal with, he dealt with a lot of that after the slushie incident. Sobbing wasn’t new. The swearing, however, was. “This is bull shit!”

“Honey, calm down.” Kurt said quietly, “You don’t need to be so angry-”

“But I am angry! Kurt this is ridiculous!” Blaine yelled, kicking the bedpost angrily. “You worked hard! You thought outside the box! You nailed your audition!” A violent sob escaped Blaine, as he sank to the bed, burying his face into Kurt’s blanket. “It’s not fair!”

Kurt, despite being upset over the rejection, couldn’t help but smile at his dramatic little boyfriend. “Oh, Blaine.” Kurt whispred, brushing a hand through his un-gelled hair. “Life isn’t fair.”

“I know that,” Blaine sniffled, sitting up, “But it’s just…can’t it be fair at least some of the time? I mean you—you work your butt off, you’re a wonderful, amazing person, and yet nothing—nothing can ever go right for you. Why can’t anything go right? You deserve happiness more than anyone! Why can’t you just win for once?!”

“Sweetie, sweetie, calm down.” Kurt all but laughed, tears streaming down his face, as he pulled Blaine into a tight hug. “Life sucks, life isn’t fair. I’ve come to…I’ve come to accept that-”

“But you shouldn’t have to-”

But,” Kurt added, pulling apart and looking pointedly at Blaine as he continued, “My life hasn’t been horrible. I have an amazing father. Amazing friends. And, to quote a certain someone, I have won…we got each other out of all this.”

Blaine let out a pathtic sob, slamming into his boyfriend’s chest to hug him. “I just want you to be happy.” He sobbed, “I just want you to be ok.”

“I am happy,” Kurt whispered, rocking Blaine a little, “I am ok. I’m not the happiest person on Earth right now…but I’ll survive. Everything happens for a reason, right?” Blaine sniffled, said nothing. “And hey, maybe this means we won’t be apart for senior year. I did say I’m never going to say goodbye to you. Maybe I can go into the psychic business.”

Blaine let out a choked laugh, sniffling quietly. “That’s not funny.” He whispered, voice low but not as upset.

“Aw, c’mon.” Kurt said, nudging Blaine a little, “It’s a little funny.” Blaine said nothing, and the two merely held each over for several minutes. “This sucks but things…it’ll be ok. It’s not the end of the world.” Leaning down, Kurt kissed Blaine softly on the head. “Don’t give up hope. Ever.”

“We’ll think of something.” Blaine whispered back.

“Together.”

Sing the Words, But Don’t Know What it Means

Shy!Blaine and Popular!Kurt Warbler AU that suddenly happened, I don’t know man.

It’s set after Blaine’s transfer to Dalton after Sadie Hawkins. Dalton, where Kurt is only a sophomore but is the big man on campus thanks to his high grades and lead-Warbler status.

So…yeah. This became a thing from these posts - 1 and 2. This is only a short drabble, fyi, but it might be the start of something horrible…I don’t know yet…

So anyway, enjoy!

“How are things going, sweetie? Have you made any friends yet?”

Oh, loads. Harry, Ron, Hermione, and I haven’t stopped hanging out since I got here.

“Oh, y-yeah, momma. I’ve made p-plenty of friends.” Blaine lied easily, it wasn’t hard to fool his mother, especially if he was saying just what she wanted to hear.

“Hey, guys, what do you know about that new boy?”

Wes glanced up from his lunch as Kurt joined them at the table. “Who? Anderson?”

“Yeah, Blaine. Do you know much about him?” David shook his head, opening his mouth to answer but Kurt quickly held up his hand. “Swallow that salad, and then try talking to me.” David purposefully stuck out his food-covered tongue before continuing to eat.

“He’s a little weird.” Trent said, suddenly joining the sophomores at the table.

You’re a little weird, Trent.” Wes shot back, only half joking.

“I heard he got beat up at his old school and had to transfer because of it.” Nick said, him and his best friend Jeff appearing next to Trent.

“Beat up?” Kurt repeated, horrified.

“Yeah,” Nick nodded, “That’s why he’s so…so…”

“Crazy?” Jeff supplied, getting a slap to the back of the head from everyone within reach.

“He’s not crazy,” Kurt said, turning to look where Blaine was scurrying into the room, heading for an empty table, brown paper bag clutched to his chest. “He’s…endearing.” Kurt watched at Blaine glanced around him quickly before pulling out a textbook and burying his nose in it. Standing, Kurt nodded a smile and a greeting at a group of students that called to him as they walked by, before ht turned his attention back to his friends. “I’m gonna go talk to him.”

“Have fun, lover boy!” David called.

Kurt ignored the cat calls from his friends as he resolved to make a new friend.

“Oh, I-I-I’m sorry!” Blaine said, all but falling to the floor to collect up the books that had fallen at the collision. The 15 year old was still skittish and nervous after his…mishap at his old school. He spent most of his time not talking, keeping his head down, and all but running from place so he wouldn’t have to interact with anyone.
But now as he straightened, holding out the notebooks to the person he’d run into, his breath caught in his throat. “I—K-“
Before him stood sophomore and still big-man-on-campus Kurt Hummel. He was the star of the Warblers and in the top 5 of his class. Not to mention he was gorgeous…not that Blaine noticed that.
“Thanks.” Kurt smiled, accepting the dropped items. Blaine stood still, eyes wide and wild, jaw slack. “Do you…need something, Blaine?”
He knows my name! He knows my name!!
“I—I-” Blaine quickly looked away, snapping his mouth shut to stop himself from stumbling on his words before swallowing hard. Blaine quickly shot his eyes back to the ground, squeaking out a quick, “N-no! You’re welcome!” Before dashing down the hall, books hugged hard to his chest.
Looking at the floor, Blaine completely missed the soft, knowing smile on Kurt’s face.
